Mary wants to know: Who is your literary Diva?
Everyone has his/her own definition of a Diva.
R&B star Beyonce states that “A diva IS the female version of a Hustla….” (Hearing this Liza Minnelli begins throwing up gang signs and playing dice with the corner boys.)
VintageDiva.com states “Divas are women who are past their mothering time and have some serious life experience behind them.” (So that means Streisand you’re in; Johansson and Gaga you’re out).
According to selfgrowth.com “A diva is able to leave her past hurts and pains in the past in order to live a more blessed life in the future…”( Hillary have you been reading selfgrowth.com?)
But we want to know who do you, dear Mary fans, consider your literary divas?
Traditionally the definition of a diva is a “prima donna, a distinguished female operatic singer/star.” But the definition of the word diva has changed and become something more universal to reflect the times we live in. In current usage diva usually refers to a talented woman who possesses grand prowess or skill and often has the ambition or attitude to match.
Who do you consider a literary Diva? Why do you love them? (And don’t say Joan Didion. She is already taken fifty times over. Be creative people!!!!!)
